Hi there I have a laptop which when using microsoft word 2010 in offline mode it comes up with The file normal.dotm cannot be opened because there is a problem with it's contents then I press ok and it says word cannot open the existing file normal.dotm.That's where you press ok and the whole thing freezes application hang event id 1002. I know when you add the user to a group in active directory it will work properly after that. The problem is that I can't because of outlook. They lose outlook if addedto that group. So what does this group do I wonder?

It must change something maybe in the registry or permissions or something for it to work.I will try to give you as much details of my set up because some of it I don't know. I just can't believe they'd create a set up that's like this really really restrictive. The users access their laptops with offline profiles when this error occurs.On the network everything is fine.
