Currently, as of December 2018, there are 24 Turkish TV dramas and 48 Turkish movies on Netflix (US), all subtitled. Netflix does change their programming though and sadly, as of Dec. 2, 2018 Magnificent Century was removed. 1001 Nights was remove.

SynopsisSila is born in the Southeastern city of Turkey, Mardin. When her father, Celil (Menderes Samancilar), could no longer afford to keep his daughter, he gives her away to a rich family in İstanbul. Sila grows up in a much higher and wealthier status than her real parents. One day, her real brother Azad falls in love with the sister of agha and kidnaps her.The village is very strict to their customs, which includes to either kill the runaways, kill the parents of the runaways, or to have the agha marry the runaway’s sister.

In this case, it is decided that long-forgotten sister Sila will be married to agha, Boran (Mehmet Akif Alakurt). In order to save her brother’s life, Sila accepts to get married Boran whom she doesn’t know.Now, she starts to live in a big house where everything is ruled according to strange customs and traditions. Even with all this darkness surrounding her, she finds an unexpected source of happiness with someone she did not expect to love. I’m usually very good at finding English subtitles, like stuff other people post they can’t find I can find (unless it’s from fox turkey. They apparently are very strict on protecting their copyright so people seem to not like subbing their stuff because it gets taken down). Anyways, this show is one of the few (non-fox) shows I can not find anywhere which, to me, means that there are no English subtitles for this show anywhere.

Maybe one day someone will sub it but the show is old so it would take a truly dedicated fan. Realistically the subber would be doing all that work for a smaller group of interested watchers than they would have for a new show.

Sıla is a young girl who shortly after being born is snatched away from her family and her roots. Taken to Istanbul where she is adopted by a rich family who tell her that all her family died.

Although from an eastern origins, Sıla is brought up in a modern western style. One day her perfect life crumbles when she meets her so-called dead family and their backward traditions. Her real father suddenly appears and lies that her mother is dying and she goes to Mardin to see her. Her life soon changes, when she is forced to marry to Boran Agha, a total stranger, to save the life of her elder brother. Now Sıla is imprisoned in a world where tradition, not law, reigns. She searched for ways to free herself and each day makes plans for her escape. Nevertheless, she struggles to run away from the growing and hopeless love she feels towards Boran Agha.

This tale takes place in the magical city of Mardin on the fruitful plains of Mesopotamia- a place of terraced buildings, shy windows and narrow lanes, where tradition challenges law and love challenges tradition.
